Black & White Film SLR Photography

I am now starting an entire new project building up to hopefully more skills in photography, this time as the titles says black and white film photography. I managed to get out and take some photos today, messing around with aperature and shutter speed, these are very important in film photography because everything needs to be planned because you can't edit and delete there and then. I prefer film in ways for photography being fun and something you should take your time and play around with, it's exciting that you've taken a picture and have to wait and see what you get once developed. I've had experience in dark rooms a few times but not with using a film camera, its odd but true. I'm more confident in developing the photos in the chemicals than when I went to take my first photo, it was fun even though I had no idea what the photos looked like.

They gave me the number 13 in red painted on the back, even asking if I was superstitious but I've gotten attached to the little heavy thing already :) I was thinking 'we have to get some great photos little cammy'. Well once the photos are done I'll hopefully put them on here, scanning them in as they aren't digital, I hope they are nice.

Music Video Assignmet (Finding the band?)

Today we were given our music video assignment and I'm trying to get a band as fast a possible, we have 5 weeks to complete all paperwork and the final piece. I've had a few people asking around for me to inform bands and have contacted a local music recording studio, I haven't had a reply yet but tomorrow I will be going to hopfully find some bands in the muisc department at the college. So far a have a number of people who I am waiting on for replys but whoever I can get first will be the band who I make a music video for. It is very much first come first serve. I have done some research online for bands and there aren't any that I really want to go for, these are my back  up plans if there is no one locally I can use. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a band because if not there a few solo artists available, no time to waist.

Media's Industry

It's late in the evening to be thinking about this but hoping I can get work in the future is a scary and challenging thought, only because I am still in the process of building my skills and knowledge. I'm so determined to work hard and learn what I can though I know I'll have fallbacks, luckily I can accept the fallbacks. Photography is somewhere I think will help me move forward in the industry and for now all I can do is prepare and learn, I will update my projects on this blog and other smaller projects. I don't know how people can type so much into their blogs and I'm trying to do so and keep it interesting, then again blogging seems kind of therapeutic if you can talk about views and opinions without too much hassle, that being if your not a popular blogger (like me). This seems to be going well so far and if anyone is reading this I hope your enjoying it, not much of a party but it's better than nothing :) haha.
Well I'll get back onto my media plans, this being about the new assigment coming up. The music video is one of the toughest we are given and I'm kind of nervous but prepared for anything, I've already made arrangements for possible bands and have a few contacts in mind, I've only contacted two so far and one has declined. I'm waiting for a reply for now to see if I can hopefully get some bands interested in having a music video made for them, this project is going to be tough and its the fact I'm going solo that troubles me. Getting outside help with this project is what I'm going to have to do, sometimes certain people who should be helpful aren't-

Other than that, I better accept this challenge :) Bring it on

Films 2012

This year looks like its going to be good year for films, with a quite a few I actually look forward to see. That being said you can only determine if the film is great once you've seen it. I recently saw Sherlock Holmes 2 : A game of shadows and it was better than I thought it would be, and I'm not basing this on other peoples opinions it was a great film if your into a good plot and care for the characters enough.
The Grey - I haven't heard alot about this film other than the rough storyline, this film looks like it could be something fresh to start the year and end the month of January.

The Woman in Black - Feburary 10th (I hope) Daniel Radcliffe is the main character in this film and is finally moving away from the Harry Potter series, it was great and I loved it but its good he's trying other things.

The Hunger Games - Another story from a popular book and looks interesting, I'd prefer to read the book first though but I have a rough idea of what its all about.

There are a few others but for now I can't be bothered to list them, I'm not sure on the Silent Hill film that's currently being made, fans will be disappointed with the change in storyline but I think the visuals will make up for it. Instead of going to Silent Hill 2 they kicked out James and moved onto SH 3, I love that game but I personally wouldn't mind a movie of Homecoming. Now I've lost all respect from SH fans I'd like to say I actually love Homecoming which is 6, in order I think it is Sh 1, 2, 3, 4, origins, then Homecoming, and then the Wii game? Thinking about SH2 the storyline (if kept exactly the same), would freak out most people who don't know of the game or played it. Half of the scenes would have been cut out due to horrible content but then again the first SH film did extremely well in keeping to the sick and messed up storyline, visually most people will think your insane for liking it :D

Paranormal Documentary

I haven't posted in a while, but its worth it to use these blog posts as references to coursework. Our paranormal documentary which was in before Christmas went great and was a huge improvement to my TV Ad, saying this I had two other team members to work with and their contribution to the work helped. I posted this onto my YouTube but I still need to contact the Nothe Fort(where we filmed), to give them a copy on disc.
